That's right, folks. After two and a half years of Tim praying for us to have a baby, we are pregnant!
Just kidding, we both have prayed about it since we've gotten married and I was completely surprised to find out that now is the right time and Heavenly Father thinks we are ready to start our family.
We found out just a couple days before my sister had her first baby (little baby Henry--such a cute little man!) and kept it mostly to ourselves til just a day ago when my sister, Laura, came to visit with her babies. I am not ashamed to say I completely freaked out. As soon as I saw that positive mark on that home pregnancy test, I ran to Tim and started to cry. "I don't want to be pregnant! It hurts! Everything is going to change!" He, being the awesome hubby he is, sat me down and just kept telling me Heavenly Father knew what he was doing and everything was going to be just fine. I wanted to tell him HE could have the baby and THEN tell me everything was going to be "just fine," but it made sense and I calmed down. Eventually.
And boy, does your body change. I started feeling strange at 5 weeks, gross at 6 weeks, nausous at 7 weeks and sick at 8 weeks, which is the state I'm stuck in now.
One thing I wish someone would have warned me about was how much saliva production increases in your first trimester. I'm so tired of swallowing my own spit, I want to gag when it's in my mouth. And I can't seem to eat anything but fruit nowadays. Tim tried to cook a pizza the other night and I ran to the bathroom just to escape the smell. It's so weird. I used to love pizza.
The best part about being preggers is my older sister, Jen, is just 3 weeks further along than I am and she and I have had so much fun complaining together about our woes. Unfortunately, now that she's on the cusp of 12 weeks and on Zofran, she is starting to feel like a person again. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted (one day).
The other best part is I get to feel my heart grow for my sweet husband who keeps running out to the store to get more fruit and popsicles, and keeps doing dishes and vacuuming and keeping on top of our finances and business matters. I knew I married a swell guy, but the other day when I woke up to him folding laundry at my feet, I thanked Heavenly Father that I married him. I love you, hubby. I'm sorry I can't stand the smell of your breath to get close to you. (Don't judge too harshly, I can't stand the smell of anyone's breath right now).
So watch out, world. There is a new baby coming soon in mid-July and it will probably be a ninja!
(Tim is hoping for a boy, but I keep feeling it's going to be a girl)

EEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!...That is the best news ever! Congrats my friend! I'm so happy for the two of you. You're baby is blessed to come to such a wonderful Mommy...I love ya!!!
I am SO stinking excited for you, I can't even stand it. I told Scott, and he got this big grin on his face and said, "Oh good! She's going to have so much fun." And you are! Once you get through your first pregnancy... :) peppermints were the only thing that killed my nausea during both of my pregnancies. Try some of those. I can't wait until you start to waddle! Please post pictures :) You're going to be so cute. And so is your BABY!!!! AAAAHHH! Congratulations, dear old roomie. I miss ya.
We are really excited for you guys! July babies are the best :) Can't wait to read all the baby updates.
Congratulations and happy womb reading.
I'm screaming in my head right now because babies are sleeping and I can't do it out loud. So, without further ado, "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Okay, I'm good.
P.S. In each of my pregnancies, my body has always created extra fluids of all kinds. Spit, urine, nasal congestion, even ear wax. So be warned. Also, thanks for being my friend even when I talk about pee and ear wax in the same sentence. I love you, and CONGRATS!!!!!!
