August is Over?

Last night, I had a dream that I was trying to help a little boy not do drugs. I am very glad to be awake at 7am this morning and not going back to sleep until I absolutely have to tonight. Since I'm up so early on my own, I will update our blog to pass the time.

Well, we are back to good ole VA. And we've already been asked to substitute the 4 year olds in primary :). We've been hanging out with more family and been able to spend all our time with each other. It's been wonderful. And best of all, Tim's new martial arts program is actually growing! Classes start Sept. 5th and we already have over 10 students. We should be getting two more with today's appointment, too, which is awwwwweeesooooome. He's been setting up events around the city and contacted his old elementary school for even more events. I posted this on facebook, but last night, he started talking in his sleep about how to best go about upgrading the cast on his arm, saying if we do it the best way, we can get more students. We worked a little too hard yesterday, I think.

This past month, an earthquake happened on the east coast. Tim and I were in the emergency room to get a piece of glass out of my foot that had been in there for a week without me fully realizing it. I laid down on the hospital bed, awaiting the upcoming torture when everything started to shake. I rose up and looked at Tim and thought, "Is this really happening?" Then I thought, "No, no, is there a railroad that runs right next to the hospital?" Um, no, but you're really smart for thinking that, Mary...

In other news, Tim's cast is getting replaced next week because they're taking the pins out in his wrist! He's been hurting pretty badly randomly because those things are grating against the inside of the cast. They are ready to come out, that is for sure. I posted a pic of his incision as last we saw it. The irritated skin on the side of Tim's wrist is the pins starting to peek out (don't worry, that's what they're supposed to do). Gross!

We'll try to post some more pics of what we've been up to soon. I'm really glad we moved back, though. I haven't got any of my writing done, sadly, but I picked up an old cross stitch I've been wanting to give to my mom since my freshman year of college. I work on that while listening to Tim's emails and updates on the website and watching tv and all that. It's been very nice to feel we're accomplishing so many things on our own!
